Hi, I am Grayson.
I never thought I would join another choir after college!
There I was with my mom, doing our weekly ritual of drinking in the hot tub; however, this time we started singing a bunch of Journey songs! I remember telling my mom that I missed singing with a choir in college. I told her that I was scared of auditioning.
The next day I woke up hung over. She had already signed me up for Main Line Singers. (NO AUDITIONS REQUIRED) She said if I didn’t go, she would cry, so of course I went.
When I joined, I was the only bass in the choir. We are now 10 strong. 💪
I was extremely nervous to sing in front of everyone; however, all the friendly faces and the kind energy in the room calmed me. Then Ted, our choir director, started singing along with me. This reinforced the idea that I was not alone. I would come to learn that everyone who occupied those other seats was amazing, interesting, would never judge, and also had some great stories to tell!
After 2 years of being in this choir, I met the love of my life. She is German, and we would have never met otherwise. Thank you, Susanne, for being our little matchmaker.
Even though I was forced to join, deciding to stay has been one of the greatest decisions of my life. The love to be found, the joy to be experienced, and the laughs to be shared are all great reasons why you too should JOIN Main Line Singers!
P.S. My mom, to this day, hasn’t shed a tear.
